It took Brian, the installer, 5 hrs to install all of the carpet upstairs. I was vacuuming the rooms for over an hour because of all of the little pieces laying on top from the install. I love the new carpet and the new carpet smell. I could just lay down and fall asleep on the new stuff. Here are some before and after install pictures.

The Install
After three nights every last little thing has been moved from upstairs down in to our dining room. Every inch of carpet and every little staple that held the grungy old carpet pad in place has been removed. Aimee and I slept downstairs on the couch last night. Not the most comfortable but it was just for one night. The carpet installer arrived at 7:20 am this morning. I was expecting 2-3 guys not knowing what's involved with installing carpet. Arriving was one carpet installer 5 feet tall. I'm totally serious, he can't be more than 5 feet tall. Right now he's stapling the new pad to the floor. Once we get everything back to normal here I'll post some before and after pictures.
BTW Thanks neighbor whom ever you are that I'm stealing bandwidth from.

Old School
Last night Andy, Aimee & I got together with some old high school friends at Outback Steakhouse. Since Outback made us wait 50 minutes, even though we called ahead, they gave us 3 free appetizers which was a bonus. We also witnessed a server spilling a beer all over a customer.
I had a great time! It was so much fun to see how people have changed over the years and what they have been up to. Hopefully we can do it again before too long. 10 year reunion is coming up and we'll see if anyone from our class plans it.

Home Away From Home
I just purchased our new tent. Yes I know, another tent. I'm a bit of a tent whore. I love our Kelty Quartz 4 but that's just not going to be big enough for us and Zoey. I had so much success with Kelty for our last tent that I decided to go with them again. This time around I have selected the Pavilion 4. The large sqft, height and screened in vestibule were a plus. This tent will be used for family style camping so I wanted to make sure it was as comfortable as possible.
BTW the new carpet will be installed on Friday. If you need a chunk of the old stuff (garage, basement) let me know and I can cut a piece out for you..

IMDB - Brazil (1985)
Brazil (1985) - Brazil tells a story of a retro-future world where the government has become a gigantic bureaucratic beast. A materialistic society that's filled with unfair rules, regulations, mountains of paperwork and a strict adherence to procedures has replaced any one's ability to critically think about what they are doing. The special effects are far advanced for a 1985 movie. They incorporate all kinds of gizmo's and gadgetry for eye candy. I can't seem to pinpoint a comparison film other than Time Bandits, I'm not talking about the story line but the cinematography. I really enjoyed this movie. I might have to watch it again just to pick up on anything I missed.

Update: Observations This Week
I may not have won a new car but I just received a $20 check in the mail yesterday from Pepsi Co. The car is the grand prize but they are also giving away $20 for gas every minute. Check for the orange caps on Pepsi products and then tpe in your code under the cap at http://dewfreeride.com/. Now if I could win the PowerBall.

Observations This Week
٭٭The new Nature Valley Oat's 'N Honey cereal is the bomb diggity. I can't get enough of this stuff. Breakfast, lunch, dinner who cares! It's good for every meal.
٭٭We will never know the truth behind Dick Enrico's advertising agenda nor will we know what he uses for hair products, a true life enigma.
٭٭No matter how many Diet Mountain Dews I buy I will never win that Subaru Empreza WRX by entering in my alphanumeric code under each bottle cap. Why? I'm just not that lucky.
٭٭I drove over a screw and now it has taken up residency in my rear driver side tire. I should have evicted this tenant about a week ago but I'm just too lazy. I'm not loosing any air in the tire but to be on the safe side I should fix it this weekend but who knows, like I said I'm lazy.
٭٭Purchasing new carpet is easier than I thought other than the cost factor. Plus if you have it installed you do not get charged Minnesota's 6.5% sales tax. I'm not sure why but that saves me 165 Washington's or a Franklin, Grant, Hamilton, Lincoln & Washington.
٭٭I have two more payments left on the Jeep and then it's all mine. ALL MINE I SAY!! Take that! On another note James still has another million payments (over exaggerated). WTG James! FYI James doesn't believe in reading Blogs so the next time you see him please remind how many payments he has left on his shiny new red Jeep. Once he tells you just yell out "SUCKA!".
٭٭The snow has melted and the sky is blue.
And those are my observations this week.

Dear Dick Enrico
I see your commercials plastered all over the television. I do not understand your 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment slogan, "Why buy new when slightly used will do except when the deals are this good!". Your company sells used exercise equipment. You are telling people why buy new stuff when this 2nd hand used stuff is just as good and/or cheaper but then you go back on your words and tell your customers to buy new exercise equipment. I just don't get it. I can understand your slogan being, "Why buy new when slightly used will do." but for some reason you also have, "except when the deals are this good!" which just confuses me. If you just sell new exercise equipment you should change your companies name to 1st Wind Exercised Equipment. Also Mr. Enrico you have a face for radio. Seriously you are an ugly, ugly man. Do you put Soul Glo in your hair because that mop on your head defies the laws of gravity.

IMDB - Umberto D. (1951)
I have noticed a problem with my quest to watch the top 250 in reverse order, the order of the movies change all the time. When I started this movie watching extravaganza I put 30+ movies in my Netflix queue. I'll just keep them coming in that order and if new films pop up on the IMDB 250 list I'll add them to my queue.
Umberto D. (1951) - Old Italian foreign movie, black & white and subtitles. It's a damn shame what he tried to do to that dog. Good movie, 7 out of 10 stars.

Not Much Going On
It has been a slow week for the ol' blog with nothing much really going on. I have a few house projects up my sleeve which includes new wood floors on the main level, a stone fireplace surround and a new pantry cabinet for the kitchen (possibly new cabinet doors) for phase 1. Money talks and we are waiting for uncle sam to deposit it into our bank account in a week. It should be fun ripping out the old carpet. If it was my choice I would take it outside, sprinkle some gasoline on it, light a match and dance around the burning pile of shit carpet with an indian headdress and tomahawk waving in the air while screaming burn bitch, BURN! BUT that would not be enviromently friendly, the neighbors may not enjoy it as much as I would and that's just plain silly so we will just get a Tub. I'm thinking this may all go down the first weekend in April since I work the weekend of the 24th & 25th. One weekend for ripping out the carpet, sealing any cracks and the next weekend for install but we'll see.

Snow Job
It has finally stopped snowing leaving only a few flurries behind. This is why I love winter! I went out and measured earlier today and we received around 14" of the white stuff here in the Valley. I worked from home yesterday and today. It's nice to have the luxury to work from home because I really didn't want to sit in traffic for an hour & half. Zoey is finally sleeping, she's been a pain in the ass the last couple days wanting tons of attention. I had to get some work done so she spent some time in her kennel to calm down. We were playing in the snow all day yesterday to help wear her out since we were unable to go for a walk.
I have been watching HGTV like crazy lately. Design To Sell, Design On A Dime & House Hunters are my favorite ones to watch. They give you so many great room ideas that are easy on your wallet. Hopefully it will inspire a new design for our master bath.

Edit: It's 7pm and those "Flurries" have turned into an extra 2" of snow.

Wolfmothertastic
Aimee & I just got back from the Wolfmother show at The Myth in Maplewood. Excellent show! They sound great live! They pretty much played everything off of their self titled debut album. Little bummed we only got to hear 1 new song called Love Attacker. You would think after touring more than a year that they would be really sick and tired of playing the same songs over and over again. The lead singer decided to grow a beard and I was waiting for him to paint some happy trees. This was the first time we have ever been to the Myth and I was impressed. The lighting was unbelievable! Plus it wasn't 100 degrees like it would be at 1st ave. I could feel cold air being blown into the joint. The layout of the place and the acoustics were great. It was just weird driving to Maplewood next to the mall to see a concert.
My only complaint was the crowd. There is an awesome concert going on and these fuckers are on their god damn cell phones? Who in the hell are you talking to in the middle of an ear deafening rock concert? Why did you waste the $32 to see this band if you are going to be instant messaging your buddies all night. Get off of your cell phone and show some fricking respect! I also heard someone behind me compare Wolfmother to Led Zeppelin. I could have punched the moron on the spot.
So in review.
Wolfmother = Gnarly
The Myth = Gnarly
Crowd = Ghey teenagers with cell phones planted to their ears.
