Great Expectations - For being made in 1946 it really wasn't that bad of a movie. Although I grew up with the 1998 version of Great Expectations starring Ethan Hawke & Gwyneth Paltrow I really felt the 1946 was lacking the chemistry between Pip (Finn in the 1998 version) & Estella. The 1946 version did not do a good job of developing the relationship between the two characters and it didn't focus enough on the infatuation Pip had for Estella when they were growing up. They did focus a good portion of the movie on the escaped convict Magwitch unlike the 1998 version. I haven't read the book but from what I have read under the user comments on IMDB this 1946 version is close to spot on.6 out of 10 stars
