What to buy?

I received some gift cards for x-mas to REI but I couldn't figure out what to purchase because I also received the Mountain Hardwear & REI jackets I wanted for x-mas. I went to REI three times and tooled around for hours. I thought about some new hiking boots but $170 was hard to swallow. I was looking at REI.com today and figured out something, new winter boots. I ended up purchasing a pair of Sorel Timberwolf winter boots. These boots will come in handy when walking the dog in the snow and also for ice fishing. I also wanted to purchase a pair of gaiters but they were all out of the Outdoor Research gaiters in XL, so I'll have to wait until they have them back instock.

The J Dizzle

I went over to REI yesterday morning for their scratch & dent sale. Doors opened at 10am and there were 40 people in line by the time I got there at 8:45am. I brought my iPod with me to burn some time. After waiting over an hour in line the only thing I purchased was a $5 Thermarest pillow. I just didn't see anything I needed.

Aimee wasn't feeling so good and her sinuses were as stuffed up as Paris Hilton's crotch on a girls gone wild weekend. So we stayed at home and watched almost all of season 4 of
Scrubs. Usually I start to fall asleep when I watch TVs series back to back on DVD but not Scrubs. We watched it until midnight.

Talk to everyone next year!

The New Birth Control

My Brother Rob had the kids this week because of Christmas so they came up from Chicago for a couple of days to visit Aimee & I. Wow what a handful Lexi, Haley & Drew is, or as I like to call it Birth Control. If Lexi does something Haley has to do it, if Haley gets something Lexi has to get it or they have a frickin' conniption. It could drive ya to drink. But all was well as we went to MOA on Wednesday to hit some roller coaster rides and do some light shopping. MOA was packed as to be expected the week after Christmas. Lexi and I went on one of the roller coasters and the log ride. Before they headed back Rob, Mom & the kids got a tour of the Best Buy campus. They all thought it was pretty cool. Hopefully Aimee & I will be able to see them in the summer sometime.

Drew checking out his Christmas present in his stylish PJs.

Haley drugged up with saliva love from Zoey.

Here's a cute picture of Lexi & Zoey.

Grandma & Lexi jamming out together on Lexi's new iPod. Yes a 8 year old girl with her very own iPod. What happen to the good ole' days of tinkertoys & lincoln logs.

Haley constructing letters on our fridge to spell her name. She's pretty darn smart for a 4 year old.

Thank You!!

Thanks again to Mike, Cindi, Jason, Suzie & Laynie for such a fun Christmas!! We (Aimee & I) had a great time! We'll have to get another Guitar Hero controller so we can do some dual guitar jams. That game was as addicting as crack. If it wasn't for my eyes drying out at 2:30am I would have been playing that game all night. I bet Guitar Hero II would even be more fun after a few 5 or so beers.

Cindi might kill me for posting this picture so I'm going to blame Aimee for taking it.

I love My Little Pony!

I F$%KING HATE YOU MY LITTLE PONY!!

A plunger...so what are you trying to tell me?

Again Aimee took this picture. I'm just the messenger.

ROCK ON BITCHES!

Charlton Heston thanks you for your Bible video purchase.

Weeble Wobbles. Lucky!

AND NOW, THE BLESSING PRESENTED TO YOU BY JASON.

Letters To Santa

Old but always funny this time of the year.

Dear Santa I wud like a kool toy space ranjur fer Xmas. Iv bena gud boy all yeer.
Yer Frend, BiLLy

Dear Billy, Nice spelling. You're on your way to a career in lawn care. How about I send you a fricking book so you can learn to read and write? I'm giving your older brother the space ranger. At least HE can spell!
Santa

----------

Dear Santa, I have been a good girl all year, and the only thing I ask for is peace and joy in the world for everybody!
Love, Sarah

Dear Sarah, You're parents smoked pot when they had you, didn't they?
Santa

----------

Dear Santa, I don't know if you can do this, but for Christmas, I'd like for my mommy and daddy to get back together. Please see what you can do.
Love, Teddy

Dear Teddy, Look, your dad's banging the babysitter like a screen door in a hurricane. Do you think he's gonna give up that action to come back to your fat mom, who rides his ass constantly? It's time to give up that dream. Let me get you some nice Legos instead.
Santa

----------

Dear Santa, I want a new bike, a Playstation 3, an iPod, some G.I. Joes, a dog, a drum kit, a pony and a tuba.
Love, Francis

Dear Francis, Who names their kid "Francis" nowadays? I bet you're gay.
Santa

----------

Dear Santa, I left milk and cookies for you under the tree, and I left carrots for your reindeer outside the back door.
Love, Susan

Dear Susan, Milk gives me the runs and carrots make the deer fart in my face when riding in the sleigh. You want to do me a favor? Leave me a bottle of scotch.
Santa

----------

Dear Santa, What do you do the other 364 days of the year? Are you busy making toys?
Your friend, Thomas

Dear Thomas, All the toys are made in China. I have a condo in Vegas, where I spend most of my time making low-budget porno films. I unwind by drinking myself silly and squeezing the asses of cocktail waitresses while losing money at the craps table. Hey, you wanted to know.
Santa

----------

Dear Santa, Do you see us when we're sleeping, do you really know when we're awake, like in the song?
Love, Jessica

Dear Jessica, Are you really that gullible? Good luck in whatever you do. I'm skipping your house.
Santa

----------

Dear Santa, I really want a puppy this year. Please please please PLEASE PLEASE could I have one?
Timmy

Timmy, That whiney begging shit may work with your folks, but that crap doesn't work with me. You're getting underwear again.
Santa

----------

Dearest Santa, We don't have a chimney in our house, how do you get into our home?
Love, Marky

Mark, First, stop calling yourself "Marky", that's why you're getting your ass whipped at school everyday. Second, you don't live in a house, you live in a low-rent apartment complex. Third, I get inside your pad just like all the burglars do, through your bedroom window.
Sweet Dreams, Santa

Canucks Got Owned

I surprisingly got 2 free tickets to the Wild game last night versus the Canucks from a coworker. I figured since I haven't paid James for carpool gas in over 3 months that I would take him if he was available, and he was. The tickets were in section 216, row 3, seat 1 & 2 and we had a pretty good view of the ice. Just about any spot at Xcel is a good one but at least we were not at the end of the area. Not even a couple minutes into the game Demitra unloads a scorching slap shot and the Wild were up 1-0. From then on it was all Wild. I was a little disappointed that the boogieman didn't throw down in fisticuffs. We totally thought he was going to unload on one of the Canucks players after there were some little scuffles during play. Final score 5 to 2.

I also got to enjoy a twist soft serve waffle cone. Only at sporting events & the sportsman show can you find the true twist soft serve, everywhere else has the yogurt wannabe. So you think the yogurt tastes the same as the soft serve? Well I say nay! Totally different flavor when it hits my taste buds and soft palate. This was my first 'waffle' as I prefer a 'cone' but they only had a hat bowl or waffle to choose from. I learned when you get to the end of this delicious delight not to bite the waffle in half as it tends to break like glass and spill the melted juices of my twisty goodness all over the ground. James was also able to collect 40 Wild beer plastic glasses for his chocolate milk fetish and for beer at his parties. So the next party at James' will be sponsored by the Wild.

Holidazzle Parade

Corey, Mel, Pete, Anne, Aimee and I went downtown to see the Holidazzle parade on Sunday. We first hit up Dunn Bros. for some tasty hot coco. Then it was off to watch the parade. Temps were cold but not cold enough to keep us away. After the parade we headed over to Old Chicago for some cold beers and eats.

Words & More Words

Nothing really new to write about lately. Aimee and I have been finishing up our Christmas shopping and we just have a few more things to buy. Aimee also sent out our Christmas cards last week and will be coming to a mail box near you. We also included our Holiday Photo for all to enjoy and no that thing on the left of Zoey is not a Rock, it's our turtle Monaco. Corey, Mel, Pete, Anne, Aimee & I are going to head down to the Holidazzle Parade on Sunday for some winter fun even though there is no snow and 40 degrees as of late. I wish we would get back into a cold snap so the ice can thicken for ice fishing.

Raising Cane's

Someone finally bought the old BK lounge on the corner of hwy 77 & 42. They are building a Raising Cane's restaurant. Their menu is chicken fingers, chicken fingers and more chicken fingers. I was personally hoping for a Sonic or the Castle but I'll give this new place a shot since I'm a sucker for processed fried chicken pieces.

Observations From Today...

...Lady in the car behind me on 160th st. I'm sorry I was drivin 55mph in a 50mph zone while the truck next to me was going the same speed but tailgating me just makes we want to go slower. Sorry you were unable to make it to your destination 30 seconds earlier because I'm sure that would have made a huge difference.

...Fleet Farm casher, putting a glass replacement for a lantern in the same bag with 3 metal U-bolts is not such a great idea. Metal has tendencies to break glass when the two meet.

...King Kong is a horrible movie. I'm not talking about the 1933 classic. I'm talking about Peter Jackson's slaughter of the 1933 classic. Maybe Peter Jackson should stick to making movies that appeal to the Dungeon & Dragon nerds of the world.

...Thank you Zoey for scratching at the door to indicate that you need to use the restroom instead of saturating the carpet full of dog urine.

...Even though the Gophers should have killed MSU I'm happy that they won 2-1 tonight.

Urban Dictionary Word'O'Day

Urban Dictionary Word'O'Day

1.UFIA
Unsolicited Finger In the Anus. Popularized on the website Fark.com and is a cliche among TotalFarkers. Originated from a news story about a young man who poked his friends in the backdoor with his finger on a high school football bus trip. In the story, the judge is quoted as saying "an unsolicited finger in the anus, while crude, is not criminal".

What should you get your mother for Christmas? Well, I gave her a UFIA.

Edit: Just thought of another one, Alone In The Wilderness DVD.

The Cloud Gate

Last Saturday we went to downtown Chicago to check out Millennium Park to see what everyone calls "The Bean" which is actually called The Cloud Gate. The Cloud Gate is a 110-ton elliptical sculpture made out of stainless steal which reflects the Chicago skyline. Many people call it "The Bean" because it's shaped like a kidney bean. I heard it took countless hours to seamlessly weld the sculpture together so it would have a smooth stainless look. This will soon be Chicago's Spoon & Cherry as we have in Minneapolis. I took a few pictures of the Cloud Gate and posted below this post.

We also decided to check out the shopping situation on Chicago's Magnificent Mile. This stretch of downtown Chicago is filled with shopping centers, acclaimed designers boutiques and dining. The one draw back was it's the Saturday after Thanksgiving so there were thousands of people downtown shopping. You just wanted to start pushing people into traffic. They had all of the trees lit up for the holiday season. We went on a horse carriage ride around downtown since the weather was a beautiful 60 degrees even at 7pm at night. Afterwards we wanted to get some dinner but every place we wanted to eat at was a 2 hour wait, so we decided to wait until we got home and order some Chicago style stuffed pizza from Mimmo's. You know you have yourself a great Chicago style pizza when you start choking on the cheese. Defiantly one of the best pizzas I have ever tasted.

Chicago

Happy late Thanksgiving ya'll!! Yesterday I was ripping my brothers CDs to MP3. I had two laptops ripping at the same time and I only got through 2 out of the 5 boxes. 8GB of great oldies such as Rush, Doors, Whitesnake, U2, Tesla, Skid Row....the list just goes on. I figure I will have close to 20GB of new music after this ordeal. I'm going to have to get a bigger iPod for all this candy for my ears. We are just about to leave to do some shopping so I'll chek ya later.

Chicagoland

Aimee and I are heading over to Chicago tonight to visit with the rents. Road rage will be in full effect as we head out after work on the busiest travel day of the year. The Zoey monster will be along for the ride and she loves to ride in the Jeep. Zoey will probably sleep the whole way there. I also have to pick up some Spotted Cow on the way for my Dad & Bro to try. I get to give my Dad & Bro a one on one lesson on MP3 players. My Bro is going to get out all of his CDs from storage for me to rip so bring on the 80's hair metal! I'll post up some pics from Chicago.

Also Corey to da 'B' Brower has given in to the force of the interweb and now has his own Blog so check it out.

Madtown Hockey Weekend

We (Pete, James, Kris & I) headed out to Madison on Friday to see the Badgers play Denver. To start the trip we had to drive through some crummy snow/ice weather. There were many cars in the ditch and we were all praying that the H-Bomb would not be joining the ditch team. We arrived around 6pm at the Econolodge. As we were waiting for Pete to check us in we noticed on the wall pictures of themed rooms like the Packers room & the Badgers room. Little did we know we had the NASCAR room! This beauty of a room had NASCAR sheets on all 3 beds, little cars on the ceiling fans and NASCAR paraphernalia all over the room. I felt like I was in a 10 year olds room. After settling in we had a few beers each before heading to the bars. James thought it would be a good idea to poor a beer and have the hair dryer blow it in his face. Oh yes I have a video of this. After all the shenanigans we called a Taxi (242-2000) and we were off to the Great Dane Pub & Brewery. We ordered some beers, soft pretzels and Nakoma nachos. I guess the guys really enjoys the pretzels with the gourmet mustards but it was not to my liking. We all experimented with the different beers. I had the Devils Lake Red Lager, Black Earth Porter and some Belgian beer. After some beers we decided to play a few games of billiards. This was a sad site, 4 drunk guys trying to play pool. I think everyone scratched 2 or 3 times. Plus pool cues and drunk guys do not mix, ask Kris.

The next morning everyone felt like ass. Mixing all of the different type of microbrewery beers was not a good idea. Some how James cut himself before going to bed the night before. I guess he fell in the dark and wailed his noggin on the table by the bed so there was a nice bloody towel in the sink to greet me in the morning. We all pulled ourselves together and headed to the mall. After driving around for 40 minutes Pete finally got us to the mall. The mall was packed! After the mall we rested up before heading downtown for the game. The Kohls Center was a pretty nice arena. The game was not so good. We were watching the score of the Gophers game more than the game in front of our faces. Watching the Badgers & Pioneers was like watching a high school game. They both played like shit. The Badgers did come back from being behind by 2 goals to tie it and bring the game in to overtime or as they like to call it in WI, period 4. With 14.6 seconds left in OT the Denver Pioneers scored and the place went silent. You could hear a pin drop. Finally score 4 to 3.

After the game we headed to the Church Key Pub & Grill. All I have to say is Spotted Cow on tap. It was a lot of fun! We played some foosball and just hung out. I have never seen so many North Face jackets in my life than that night. UW must give them away to any new students. I'm not kidding if you want to open up a store in Madison make sure it is a North Face store. It would be a cash cow.

Here is a link to the pictures and some videos.

Hey Mel!

I was just looking at our 11/26 Best Buy insert and saw a Waffle Iron on page 39. It reminded me of the time when you made waffles for us hungry guys and how you got frustrated with your waffle maker. Those waffles were very tasty BTW. Nothing says I love you like a good waffle iron. That's why I'm getting Aimee two. :)
