Pete, Anne, Kris and I met up over at Majors Sports Cafe in Apple Valley for $.21 cent Shells FireBrick taps. They also had some 2 for 1 appetizers. Pete and Anne arrived early and got some awesome seats. Majors was rocking all of the plasma TVs with NCAA basketball. We watched a few upsets which included Siena over Vanderbilt by 20pts, San Diego over Connecticut by 1 pt in OT, Western Kentucky over Drake by 2pt in a very high scoring OT game and Villanova over Clemson. I am defiantly NOT a basketball fan. Whenever I see the NBA on TV I switch it immediately. Plus I couldn't even tell you who the #1 seed in the NCAA tournament is but it was actually kind of fun to watch college basketball. BUT I think I would only watch it again if there was nothing else on TV or at a bar.
After Majors we picked up Aimee and met James & Liz at Old Chicago. Pete schooled Kris and I at Big Buck Hunter. Pete was on his game kicking some big buck ass. Kris...well Kris played like he forgot what a buck looked like (it's the one with the antlers Kris). I don't even hunt, hell I haven't even shot a gun before yet I ended up beating Kris in both games we played.
After Old Chicago we headed home, or so we thought. We were coming up the roundabout at 153rd st and the new bar/restaurant called Panino Brothers looked like it was open so Aimee jokenley said hey lets go there. Kris decided for all of us (Kris, Aimee and I) to take the circle-O-death and go to Panino Brothers. The bar has 30 taps with mostly local brews. We talked to the owner and he said he's going to be switching the taps fairly often. He also gave us a bomber of Flat Earth Cygnus X-1 Porter for free. Another thing that was cool was the whole bar top was made from an old bowling alley lane. It was a pretty cool idea and looked great. We will be coming back to support this establishment again. It's a rare thing to see an independent bar/restaurant in the suburbs. It's like residents are scared of them so they continue to go to the Old Chicago's, Applebee's and Buffalo Wild Wings of the world meanwhile there are some great local spots that open up and don't get any support causing them to close quickly. So if you are in the neighborhood give Panino Brothers a try.

We also enjoy Panino Brothers and have been there three times since it opened.
The owner is a really good guy and the beer selection is definitely the best in town (although I do admit that doesn't say much :()
