Finally! Niner has released the new SIR 9's! I've been holding out for the new gold color and I'm glad I did. This is one sweet looking ride. I will be giving Niner a call tomorrow to find out when I can get one ordered.

Duck Hunt
37 dead ducks were found around the drainage pond next to our house. Story here. Knowing the neighborhood, I wouldn't be surprised if the same kids that found the ducks also killed them. I guess we will have to wait for Dakota County to analyze them until we find out an answer.

PETA, You're Udderly Ridiculous
Check out this article.
"PETA wants world-famous Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream to tap nursing moms, rather than cows, for the milk used in its ice cream."
"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is asking the ice cream maker to begin using breast milk in its products instead of cow's milk, saying it would reduce the suffering of cows and calves and give ice cream lovers a healthier product."
"If Ben and Jerry's replaced the cow's milk in its ice cream with breast milk, your customers — and cows — would reap the benefits"
So all you prego moms out there get ready to attach your boobies to some pumps because we don't want to hurt those lazy cows. Instead of giving breast milk to your own child so they can grow up big and strong, you can just sell it to B&J to put in their ice cream for others. Doesn't that sound delicious?

Urban Assault Ride
What an exhausting day but definitely a fun one. Aimee and I competed in the New Belgium Brewing Urban Assault Ride today. The race started at 9am sharp. Starting point was the Freewheel Bike shop off of the green way in Minneapolis. We first biked to lake Harriet to find out first mystery clue which will lead us to One on One bikes but on the way north we stopped at the Chipotle at Calhoun Commons for our first checkpoint challenge. We had to limbo at three heights while riding our bikes. Not too hard of a challenge as we were finished in matter of minutes. After that we head back on the green way on our way to Peace Coffee next to hwy 55. This was the best challenge out of all we did. This was the big wheel race. We did two laps all while skidding out around every turn. Next checkpoint was the Freewheel bikes off of Cedar. For this challenge we had to put on oven mitts and pick up bottle caps while the staff is soaking us with water cannons. After we biked to One on One and then to first ave. At this point it was 11:15am and we only had 45 minutes left so we decided to skip the REI in Bloomington checkpoint along with the Penn Cycles off of Penn in Richfield. We instead biked back to the finish so we could do the final challenge which was one of those giant inflatable obstical courses you would find at a county fair. After the ride we were treated to free Chipotle and free BEER!! I had a couple glasses of Fat Tire and of 1554. The best over all time was around 1hr and 39 minutes and for their effort they won 2 New Belgium Brewing bikes.

Urban Assault
I'm getting giddy for the Urban Assault ride on Sunday. From what I hear this will be the largest Urban Assault ride for any first time city with over 400 registered riders. Among those registered are Aimee and I, Kris and Pete and some of Aimee's coworkers. You start and finish at Freewheel Bikes in Minneapolis and you ride to 8 checkpoints within 3 hours. These checkpoints have crazy contests for the riders to participate in. One of the checkpoints is the REI in Bloomington so I think this ride will be over 30 miles. I'm going to throw the 17t cog and some flats on the 29er before the event. It should be a great time rain or shine.
BTW MORBID celebrated its first birthday. Get ready for the terrible twos because we should be kicking some ass in our second year of existence.

Kabin'O'Beer
Kris, James, Aimee and I went to Kris's family cabin on Balsam Lake this weekend. It's located an hour and a half north of the cities just across the Wisconsin border. A quaint little 1 bedroom cabin with about 800 sqft. Friday night we drank and played double twelve dominoes until 3am. This was the first time I have ever played dominoes and it will not be the last. It turns out I'm the rain man of dominoes minus the Wapner.
Saturday we did some fishing. The morning wasn't too bad with a few bass and pike caught. The afternoon bite was horrible. I think we only caught a couple more. After fishing we came back to the cabin and went up to the liquor store. A couple 6'ers of Spotted Cow were purchased. When we were leaving the store Aimee stepped on her foot wrong and rolled her ankle. When we got back some Vodka Cranberries helped with the pain. We played some more dominoes before Kris made some MONSTER cheese burgers. After that we just hung out by the bonfire for a while before getting back to our domino game.
Sunday morning we went out fishing for a few hours only to catch 1 small bass. The weather was not looking the greatest so we headed back to the cabin for lunch and to start the cabin clean up. It was a relaxing weekend and I really wish I could afford a weekend cabin on a lake. Can't wait until next summer to do it again. Thanks again Kris for inviting us.

Happy 30th Andy
Our friend Andy turned 30 years young yesterday. We met up with him and others at The Shout House which is a dueling piano bar. I wish I would have known before hand but Wednesday nights is 80's night so everyone was dressed in 80's style clothes and they will only play 80's music requests. From what I can tell Andy had a great time and the $1 Vodka Redbulls didn't hurt. We left around midnight and as we exited Block E we were surrounded by hundreds of cops on the streets of Minneapolis. Riot Police on horseback, mountain bikes, scooters, helicopter etc. They were out in full force just in case of any riots erupted against the RNC during the Rage Against The Machine concert at the Target Center, it was pretty intense. 2 hours later Aimee and I finally made it home. We did our part and drove a few boozed peeps home. It was a great time! We'll have to hit up Wednesday night again and dress up next time.
