Lake Vermilion Houseboat Trip

Aimee and I along with my Mom & Dad and their two good friends Jill & Jim went up to Lake Vermilion for a week long houseboat trip. We rented the houseboat from Vermilion Houseboats in Tower, MN. We were on the 44 ft Explorer which can sleep 8 but I wouldn't recommend it as 6 was enough. The pictures on their site of the Explorer are not correct, I believe they just remodeled the boat.

Because I am to lazy to write a weeks worth of blogging I will give you the highlights.

-Taco night was not a good decision.
-Vermilion has a HUGE small mouth bass population.
-I caught 3 muskies. Largest was 32".
-Do not walk through screen doors.
-Do not try to walk through glass doors.
-Mosquitoes, mosquitoes, mosquitoes everywhere.
-Loons do a weird mating dance on the water.
-Weather was AWESOME!!
-You can see 4x as many stars at night compared to here in the cities.
-Top bunk sucks.
-More mosquitoes!!
-The scenery was absolutely beautiful!
-Everything in Tower closes at 5pm.
-Pork logs from Sams Club are mammoth in size.
-Limited out on northern pike.
-Only 2 walleye caught and both were in the slot limit.
-Going to the top deck, cracking open a beer and sitting in the sun doing NOTHING!!
-And of course spending the week with family and friends.

Here is a map of our route.
