I'm disappointed that The Dark Knight did not get a Best Director or Best Picture nomination. These days if you don't make some kind of odd obscure indie picture you will not get nominated. You get nothing for a movie that is a HUGE blockbuster and grosses over half a billion dollars at the box office. The Dark Knight is already #5 on IMDB. Also I do not agree that Heath Ledger should be nominated for Best Supporting Actor. He was more part of the movie than Christian Bale. Heath should have been up for Best Actor.
Some of these movies are still in limited release or have just been released. This is the list of the USA gross box office.
Best Motion Picture of the Year
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - $91,092,395 gross
Frost/Nixon - $7,631,181
Milk - $19,163,996
The Reader - $5,510,453
Slumdog Millionaire - $34,127,195
The Dark Knight - $531,026,626
