Freezing Our Ice Off

I got a new (used) portable fish house last weekend. I found a deal on a Clam 1060 ice house. The 1060 can fit 4 people or 2 people can fish 2 holes each. James, Pete and I were out at Lake Marion tonight and we caught about a dozen crappies and a couple perch. It got a little frosty inside with the clear skies bringing the temp to zero. Orchard Lake is the next prospect lake to check out.

Oscars BOO!

http://www.imdb.com/features/rto/2009/oscars

I'm disappointed that The Dark Knight did not get a Best Director or Best Picture nomination. These days if you don't make some kind of odd obscure indie picture you will not get nominated. You get nothing for a movie that is a HUGE blockbuster and grosses over half a billion dollars at the box office. The Dark Knight is already #5 on IMDB. Also I do not agree that Heath Ledger should be nominated for Best Supporting Actor. He was more part of the movie than Christian Bale. Heath should have been up for Best Actor.

Some of these movies are still in limited release or have just been released. This is the list of the USA gross box office.

Best Motion Picture of the Year
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - $91,092,395 gross
Frost/Nixon - $7,631,181
Milk - $19,163,996
The Reader - $5,510,453
Slumdog Millionaire - $34,127,195

The Dark Knight - $531,026,626

What I am rocking out to

Released in 2007, Sawdust is a compilation of re-recorded B-sides, rarities, covers and remixes. Some notable tracks are Tranquilize with Lou Reed, Shadowplay, Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll, and Romeo & Juliet. This is one of those albums where you can enjoy every track. Also Cakes cover of Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town is much better than The Killers.

Home Projects

Aimee and I are keeping busy with some home projects. Currently we are repainting our bedroom. It is time for the red wall to come down and tone down the brown chocolate walls a few shades. We sold our love seat and recliner because they were just to big for our place and have a new chair coming on Tuesday. The love seat hid the fireplace and we didn't have a spot for the recliner. We also bought a new king size bed which totally rocks! Also on the list of home projects to get started is granite tile counter tops, putting stone up on the the fireplace wall and painting baby B's room. Should be a busy next few weeks.
