Pug Party

We took Zoey to a Halloween pug party at the Petco in Burnsville. Don't worry I'm not going to go psycho and start purchasing pug t-shirts, calenders, coffee mugs and put a sticker on my car that reads, "I love my pug". There were about 40 or so pugs dressed up for Halloween. Unfortunately our hotdog costume from Target was extremely unoriginal as 3 other pugs came as the same thing. It was utter choas as all of the pugs were running all over the place looking for the next butt to sniff. It was hilarious watching them all do their thing. Zoey started hauling ass from one side of the room to another trying her hardest to start some shit by chasing after some other pugs to get them to play with her. The best part of it all, Zoey has been sleeping since we got home around 4pm.

Weekend Round Up

First things first. Our new nephew was born yesterday. Wyatt Charles Nordmeyer born Oct. 13th at 3:13pm, 8lb 3oz, 20" long and a full head of hair! Congratulations to Jason & Suzie! Aimee & I are really excited because we get to be his God parents. I wasn't able to visit the Nordy's today because I had to work but hopefully in the next couple days I will be able to see the little guy and get to hold him.

Friday I went over to James' to watch Gophers hockey play their first game of the season versus RPI. Yeah I was thinking the same thing, what school is RPI. It is Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. The Gophers barely won this game as they were down 3-0 in the 2nd period. RPI folded in the 3rd giving up 3 unanswered goals. Gophers went on to win the IceBreaker Title with a win over Michigan.

Saturday Pete & I went to Murphy to ride a couple laps. We finished with 18 miles that day. It was a perfect day in the upper 50's and the trail was a little tacky making it fast & fun. Then Aimee & I went to Terrance Oaks to test out her new bike. We did a couple laps there. This week is looking pretty shitty for riding, 50's and rain. We might try to hit the River bottoms for a night ride.

Today (Sunday) I was on call so I got to sit at home in front of the TV and watch the Vikings barely edge out the Bears. Then I called my Dad to rub it in his face because they were at the game.

Random Crap

Aimee & I went to Chicago last weekend. Everytime I go there I rejoice knowing that I live in MN. I'm sorry to all the Chicagoans but most of the suburbs are dumps. My cats litter box is cleaner than most of Chicago.

The Yankee's once again failed to $buy$ their way to a World Series Championship. Thank god becuase I HATE the Yanks. Like Herb always said, "The players had big egos...That's why all-star teams traditionally seem to self-destruct. We didn't."

Hockey has begun. Wild are 2-0. Go Wild!!

We had to buy a new washer & dryer. BOOO! The old washer went out, I think it was the transmission. I would have preferred that the dryer gone out since it was a cheap POS, then we would have only bought a new dryer. My whites have never been whiter.

It has been hard to get back in to the swing of things at work after the Moab trip. Then people are setting up meetings at 4-5pm. WTF people. As D.J. Tanner would say, "That's just rude!".

Winter is just around the corner which is my favorite season. It's only my favorite when there is snow on the ground otherwise it's depressing looking at the brown grass. Time to break out the sweaters and jackets.

I'm Back!!

Oh hells yes! I'm back from Moab, UT! What a frickin' awesome trip!!! I can't wait to go back again! I took over 800 pictures so I'll just run through some of the highlights.

Jeepin'! That's the main reason for going. We did 5 trails while we were there, Gold Bar Rim, Fins and Things, Porcupine Rim, Kane Creek Canyon and Hells Revenge. The Cherokee performed flawlessly!

Repelling. We went into Arches National Park and did some canyoneering and 4 repels. This is totally worth doing if you get a chance. You get to see a part of the park than 95% of visitors do not see.

Biking. We rented some sweet full suspension bikes and went to the Slickrock Bike Trail. Extreme is an understatement for this trail. You better be in the best shape of your life and have no fear of breaking bones. I ended up with a bruised tail bone.

Arches National Park. Take a few mile hikes and you will be able to see all of those rad arches from the postcards like Landscape Arch, Double O Arch & Delicate Arch.

Once I comb through the 800 pictures I will post up some to my Photobucket to share with everyone. We are already thinking of a Moab 09' trip with more couples (& singles).

T Minus 2 Days

Until I leave for Moab, UT. I've been working a week ahead so I do not piss off my coworkers next week and to make it easy on myself when I get back. Sounds like we have a packed schedule in Moab which includes off-roading just about everyday, mtn biking, golfing, repelling and other site seeing. We also have to stop at Doc Holiday's grave to take a shot of Yukon Jack. There are some weird traditions with the Moab trip which I'm not surprised given Greg & Eric organize it.

I'm really excited to see Arches National Park. I'm sure I will take a billion pictures out there. We didn't get a chance to see Arches the last time we drove through. I better see a coyote with TNT roller skates chasing a roadrunner or I will be sorely disappointed.

Since I will be in Moab for a week I also dropped off the Bianchi at Hollywood Cycles to have the rear wheel trued, new brake pads installed and have the brake levers rebuilt. It should be in tip top shape by the time I get back for some fall riding.

I'll have my notebook with me in Moab and I'll try to find some internet access at a Starbucks or somewhere to update everyone!
